CVR (Centre for Vision Research) member Laleh Seyyed-Kalantari will co-lead a new national AI Safety Solution Network, funded by CIFAR (the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research). Several CVR members have had important work supported by CIFAR. Seyyed-Kalantari’s team will work to reduce bias in large language models (LLMs) by focusing specifically on Nigerian Pidgin English a dialect spoken by more than 140 million people.
